Between times when conditions give those pictures that beg to be taken, my mind is looking for an idea to photograph. An example is Curves:  Shots of roads curving into a composition have always fascinated me. Here’s where you’ll find shots that aren’t the breathtaking once-in-eternity photograph, but you may find the shot that developed an idea and honed the eye for the moment the elements come together and present the opportunity for beautiful art.

Themes that occupy my eye are the aforementioned Curves, Windrows, Rivers, Clouds/fog, and Railroad Tracks/Trains.

Here’s a picture from fellow photographer Dave Webber. This one has a number of my favorite themes blending together to create magic.  This photo makes everyday sights appear mystical.
