Blog Tour De Troops

Blog Tour de Troops, welcome to my snowy post. I hope you enjoyed The City of Roses Blog. Please, put your feet up, soak in the fireplace, make yourself comfortable before the tour continues  to Kelli McCracken’s Place.  In the meantime, enjoy this little mountain blog. Would you like a cup of coffee? Something to eat? Okay, I really don’t have coffee and food for you, but I do have a special thank you.

For participating in this tour,  leave a comment with your email address and you’ll receive an Ebook copy of Cemetery Street. It’s a tearjerker – a segment takes place in 1991′s Gulf War. The book in part pays homage to the sacrifice of our service personnel and their families.

If you’re a member of the armed services please mention it in your comment and I’ll include an extra thank you.

Everyone who leaves a comment will receive a Smashwords coupon so you can download your copy of Cemetery Street. As a reminder, everyone who comments will be entered into a drawing to win a Kindle.

If you would like to donate money toward Kindles for Troops, simply use PayPal and ibcprograms@gmail.com as the address. Please note that it’s a donation for the troops.

Thanks for stopping in.

  5. I must say I’m very envious of you sitting up there all warm and cozy in the mountains! I adore snowy mountains and log cabins… something a world away from where I live, I tell ya!

  10. Thanks for supporting the troops! My great-grandfather, my grandfather, my uncle, my dad, my brothers, and myself have all been blessed with the opportunity to serve in the armed forces. My youngest brother is still in the army and has done a tour in Iraq and in Afghanistan. It has taken quite a toll on him and his family. I sent him paperback books when he was over there. Sending free ebooks to the troops is a wonderful thing.

  16. I used to send books overseas via ‘Books for Soldiers’, and this is the best way I’ve seen yet to continue that effort!

  17. Thanks for the welcome to your blog. I could almost smell the coffee & hear the crackle of the fire. It is a wonderful thing you & the other authors are doing for our troops. I’m so glad to have been a part of it.

  18. I have had to tone down my emotions during the Blog Tour de Troops, as we have so much to be grateful to our troops and veterans for. This is such a wonderful event, thank you so much for participating and honoring our veterans on their day and giving to our troops the joy of a good book. I am also thankful for your providing us readers a copy of your lovely book as well. Your efforts are appreciated.

  19. Thank you for your participation in this event. What a great way to support the troops. As the mother of two of those young men in uniform (both of whom just finished tours in Iraq) I am doubly grateful.

  20. It’s a wonderful thing all these authors are doing with the Blog Tour de Troops. I was just reading a news article in which active duty troops were lamenting the lack of new books to read! Thank you for your generosity and the contest!

  21. John, I’d just like to express my sincerest gratitude to you & all the other amazing authors that participated in this event to honor our troops this Veteran’s Day weekend. My husband & my roommate’s fathers both served during the Korean conflict & I have friends who have served or who have children that are serving currently. The cause of supporting our troops is near & dear to my heart. It has been a trait of mine since high school that’s never left me. Our troops & their families deserve the utmost respect & gratitude from all of us who are safe & free because they so selflessly do everything they can to keep us from harm.

  23. I think what you all are doing for our soldiers is a wonderful thing! My husband served in the Navy, and my mother-in-law and daughter served in the Air Force, so our men and women are very close to my heart at all times, but especially on and around Veteran’s Day :)
Thank you for the free copy of your book! I am really looking forward to reading it:D

  24. Thank you so much for the wonderful support you are showing our troops. It means everything to them.

My loving soldier Jon is currently serving this country overseas in Afghanistan. It makes this time of year more difficult to get through. But at the same time it reminds me how much I have to be thankful for. I hold our freedom’s very close to my heart, because I know what goes into protecting them.

Thank you for paying homage to our troops.

  25. Such a great way to get free books, try new (to me) authors & support our troops at the same time. Please send code to get book at Smashwords.

    • My dad was a WWII vet and landed at Omaha Beach on D-day. He didn’t live quite long enough to go on one of the Honor Tours and he didn’t talk about the war but he looked very dashing in the pictures.
Thanks for the book and thanks for supporting our troops

  26. Thank you so very much!!! Your generosity and the generosity of all the fabulous authors on this tour is just remarkable!!
I would love to read this book and love that my comment will mean that one of our troops can read it too.

  27. thanks for doing this. As an army veteran of multiple deployments, I can assure you that reading provides sanity and a chance to explore worlds outside the dust/rain/dirt of the present un-fun. With the advent of eBook readers it has become even easier to read, try new authors and to feel less cut off from the world.

    sincerely – Holly (prosekniticATyahooDOTde)

  28. I hope that the cabin featured in your post is where you do your writing. This is because I have a sudden need to live vicariously through you if it is. I really enjoyed your site and I thought your posts were though provoking. I, too, will be interested to see what the full fall out is at Penn State. (I am a lawyer by training and think that that story is just getting warmed up.) Tragic. It won’t do much to help those kids, but it might send the message that no one is above the law. We live in a world where we make gods of our celebrities. If only we could make celebrities out of our social workers and feeders of the homeless. In any event, thank your participation in this tour. Through a log on that fire and write your heart out.

    Warmest regards,

  30. Coffee sounds good to me too. Great post – and your previous one on Penn State is also very well done. (As one who is also a native Pennsylvanian, I understand the emotions behind this very well.) Thanks for participating in this blog project and I’m looking forward to reading more of your work. ~ Melissa, peanutboo2(at)gmail(dot)com

  35. I admire what you all are doing. As a child of the military, (my mom, biological father, and step father, all are military, in various branches, not to mention aunts, uncles, and grandparents), it’s always been part of my life, so I think it’s really nice when people acknowledge what they spend their lives devoted towards.

  36. Thank you for being a part of the tour. Thank you to all of our troops in and out of service, veterans and heroes. You’ll never know how much you mean to all of us. I hope that everyone returns home safe and sound.

  37. I’m so glad there’s another Tour de Troops!! Can’t wait to see if there’s more comments than Memorial Day! What a great way to give our troops a little escape in a book while they are away from home and at war. Thanks IndieBookCollective!! Thanks for the free book – can’t wait to read your story!

I would like the troop book to go to my cousin Zachary Neer serving in the United States Army in Afghanistan. His email is: zach.ne(at)hotmail(dot)com
